Our storyमाँ के हाथ का
In a home kitchen in Surat, Pratima Singh does what Indian mothers have always done — feed the people around her, properly. In 2022 she gave that instinct a name: Millets of India, a small kitchen devoted to the grains this country grew up on.
Every laddoo is rolled by hand, in small batches, from millets she soaks, sprouts and grinds herself on the family chakki. Sweetness comes from jaggery and dates — never refined sugar. Neighbours became customers; customers became regulars; some single batches have crossed fifty kilos of re-orders.
The kitchen is entirely hers. This website is her two sons’ contribution — so her laddoos can travel a little further than her building.

Our processअपनी चक्की का आटा
The slow way, on purpose. What premium labels now sell as “activated” millets is simply how Pratima has always worked.
Every millet is soaked for 8–10 hours. That is when the grain becomes truly digestible — there is no shortcut.
Washed six to seven times, until the water runs completely clear.
Then sprouted to wake the grain up — what modern labels call “activated”, our kitchens have always done.
Ground fresh into flour on our own home chakki. Flour is never bought, never stored.
This is why her laddoos taste like home — because they are made in one.
Why millets
Ragi, jowar, bajra — the grains our grandparents grew strong on, long before white flour arrived.
Millets carry no gluten at all — gentle on gut and easy to love.
Ragi is one of the richest plant sources of calcium; bajra brings iron.
Slow-release grains that keep energy steady — not spiking.
India's original hardy grains, grown with a fraction of the water rice needs.

Only jaggery (gud) and dates (khajur). Nothing refined, ever. The 100% Dry-Fruit Laddoo goes one step further — no jaggery either, just dates and nuts.
Pure desi ghee, always. Flours are never bought — millets are soaked, sprouted and ground fresh on our own home chakki for every batch.
They are made fresh with no preservatives. Kept in an airtight jar at room temperature they are best enjoyed within 2–3 weeks — ask us on WhatsApp for the batch date of your box.
